Community Guidelines
PeleFoot only works if players can trust scouts, scouts can trust players, and everyone can trust what they see. These guidelines say what we expect from everyone, and a little more from each role. They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
For everyone
- Be real. Use your own name, photo, and details. Don't impersonate anyone, invent credentials, or create accounts to mislead people.
- Be respectful. No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, or discrimination based on race, nationality, religion, gender, disability, or anything else. Competitive banter is fine; targeting a person is not.
- Keep it football. PeleFoot is for football talent, scouting, and fandom. No spam, adverts for unrelated products, scams, betting promotions, or repeated unsolicited messages.
- Only share what's yours to share. Upload your own footage or footage you have permission to use. Don't post copyrighted match broadcasts or other people's content as your own, and don't post someone's private information, such as phone numbers, addresses, or ID documents.
- Keep it safe for all ages. Many players on PeleFoot are teenagers. No sexual, graphic, or violent content, and nothing that puts a young person at risk.
- Respect the platform. Don't try to hack, scrape, or bypass how PeleFoot works, and don't run several accounts to get around a decision.
For players
- Show real ability. Post genuine clips of yourself. Don't edit footage to exaggerate your level, claim someone else's highlights as yours, or give a false age, position, club, or stats.
- Be honest about your age. Players aged 13 to 17 need a parent or guardian to confirm consent before scouts can see their profile. Never get around this.
- Protect yourself. You choose whether to approve a contact request. If a scout asks you for money, pressures you, or wants to move the conversation somewhere private straight away, say no and report them. A real scout will never charge you to be seen.
- Be a good teammate. Don't post clips that expose other players without their consent, and don't use the platform to criticise or mock other players.
For scouts
- Be who you say you are. Only claim a club, agency, or role you genuinely hold, and submit real credentials when asked.
- Never charge players. You must not ask a player or their family for money, gifts, or favours in exchange for scouting, trials, representation, or exposure.
- Make honest approaches. Be clear about who you are and what you are offering. Don't make promises you can't keep about trials, contracts, or transfers.
- Treat young players with care. When a player is under 18, involve their parent or guardian in anything beyond early conversation, keep communication professional, and never contact a minor in a way you wouldn't be comfortable with their parent seeing.
- Use contact details properly. Details a player shares through an approved request are for the football purpose you stated. Don't share, sell, or reuse them.
For fans
- Support, don't pile on. Comments and reactions should encourage players, especially young ones. Constructive feedback is welcome; abuse is not.
- Respect privacy. Don't try to find a player's personal details or contact them off-platform when they haven't chosen to share them.
What happens when something goes wrong
You can report any video from the app, choosing a reason: inappropriate content, spam or misleading content, harassment or bullying, copyright violation, or other. Our admins review each report. Depending on what we find, we may:
- remove the content,
- warn the person responsible,
- hide or restrict a profile, or
- suspend or permanently remove the account.
Serious issues, especially anything that puts a young person at risk, may be reported to the relevant authorities. If you think we have made a mistake, email hello@pelefoot.com and we will take another look.
If you see something worrying
Report it in the app straight away. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. For a safeguarding concern about a young person, email hello@pelefoot.com with “Safeguarding” in the subject line. Reports marked this way are read by a member of our team and treated as a priority.
